What’s the Real Hot 100 about?
There are plenty of media available highlighting women for their beauty. We are a media company that promotes women for their brains. Desire for a “hot list” that appealed to us led us to create our own Real Hot 100 list.

We wanted a “hot list” in the media that embodied traits we consider hot – women who are bold, active in their communities, speak their minds – women with moxie. Unable to find such a list, we decided to create on ourselves.

Our nomination period coincides with the release of Maxim’s Hot 100 for good reason – we want women who, like us, feel a desire for “real” depictions of women in media to have a place to turn. Ever year Maxim chooses its hot 100 women abased on their looks. Every year we choose our hot 100 women based on the actions. 

How old is “young”?
The only age requirement The Real Hot 100 enforces is that a nominee must be 18 years old or older. While we’re sure there are a ton of older women doing amazing work, our goal is to highlight the work of young women.

When is the deadline?
The deadline for nominating someone to The Real Hot 100 is October 15, 2007. So get moving!

What makes someone REALLY hot?
A REALLY hot young woman defies the idea that all we have to offer is looking hot. Making a difference is hot. Breaking barriers and fighting stereotypes is hot. If you want to see some nominees to get an idea of the kind of work REALLY hot women are doing, click here.

Can I nominate a man?
While we’re sure there a ton of REALLY hot men doing great work, this list is meant to combat stereotypes of young women. So, The Real Hot 100 is for ladies only.

How can you narrow down all the amazing nominees to just 100 winners?
That’s the hard part.  All the nominations we receive will go online. The final list, however, will only feature 100 young women. The Real Hot 100 selection committee will choose the 100 women that best represent the intelligence, drive and diversity of young women in the U.S. and the amazing work that they are doing.
