The biggest expression of her commitment to equality is in her Fair Trade Organic coffee shop called CommUnity Market. CommUnity Market exclusively brews Café Femenino, a Fair Trade Organic coffee from the northern Penachi community of Peru. Café Femenino is harvested and produced by a women’s foundation; the pilot project was started by the local Peruvian women to provide healthy jobs for women and to end the abuse and abandonment perpetrated against them in their village. According to Chimene: “This project is creating a sisterhood in coffee. It is about women supporting women in the quest for quality and equality!”
